Best Online Roulette Tables Selected by Dave
If you are not sure whether you can trust my expertise or not, let me tell you a little bit about who I am and why I know so much about gambling games. Before the pandemic happened, I worked as a casino dealer and manager on a cruise ship and managed to learn a lot about the flip side of the industry and its secrets. Since I was reduced from the casino, I started implementing my skills in online gambling, and it totally worked.
As I had plenty of time to play games at that moment but wanted to make the process as effective and lucrative as possible, I created my own set of criteria that I now use for choosing the best games and online casinos every time I want to make bets. It allowed me to significantly increase the amount of winnings and the overall quality of my gambling experience. So, when I want to play online Roulette or any other game, first of all, I define my main goal, i.e. what I want to get from this gambling session.
If you ask yourself this question before picking a Roulette table, you can narrow down the choice and then either make a decision yourself or find a game and a casino from my list of the best websites for NZ players.
How I Choose Online Roulette Games
Soon, I’ll show you how exactly I choose roulette tables for myself, but first of all, let’s talk about the two basic kinds of Roulette games you’ll see in NZ online casinos — a regular online Roulette you are all familiar with, and a Live Roulette. If you’ve never tried live games, it’s high time to do it as it’s the most entertaining experience you can get from online gambling. When you play Live Roulette, you can see the real dealers spinning the wheel as the gaming process is streamed either from a studio or from a real casino. Thus, you can feel like you are in a land-based casino without actually leaving your house.
Live games are not perfect, though. There is no chance to try a free demo game first, and they are not too generous when it comes to bonuses — but don’t let it keep you from playing them as you never know which game will win your heart until you try all of them.
Now, let’s take a closer look at my selection criteria:
Is it a new Roulette game I never tried before?
As a seasoned gambler, I know that online bets become boring at some point, just because you played all the games you could find, and there is nothing new to try. As a seasoned gambler, I also know that gambling should always bring you fun and joy, even if it’s your way of making money. That’s why I’m on a constant search for the freshest games and try to regularly update my game lists with new titles. You can use a filter on the right to see the newest Roulette games. As for now, it’s a Portomaso Casino Roulette made by Ezugi.
Will this Roulette let me win more money?
Playing Roulette is obviously fun, but the main goal is always to win some money. If your goal is to win as much as possible, it would be reasonable to choose a game with the higher RTP. By the way, make sure you can easily find the RTP information on the casino’s website, otherwise, you can get into trouble. So, when I want to get more money from a casino, I usually play the Live Roulette by NetEnt as it has one of the highest RTP numbers I’ve ever seen — 99.6%.
Is it a risky Roulette?
Making a real money bet in a casino always means taking a risk, but let’s be honest, NZ$0.01 bets don’t really get your adrenaline flowing. When I want to feel the thrill, I opt for the casinos that have special high-rolling sections or just allow higher maximum bet limits. While most of the websites won’t let you bet more than NZ$300-600 on a single Roulette round, these ones will happily accept even NZ$100000 wager. Of course, it’s not something I recommend doing if you are a beginner, but dreaming big is pleasant, isn’t it? The all-time leader in this category is the Video Roulette made by Playtech where you can bet as much as NZ$40000!
Can I play this Roulette just for fun?
Even though online gambling is my main source of income now, sometimes, I’m not in the mood for concentrating on a game too much, making up betting strategies, and so on — I just want to play Roulette for fun without risking big sums of money. And this is when low-limit games come handy. In the Auto Roulette by Evolution Gaming, I can bet NZ$0.1 and get a high-quality game streamed from the real casino, which sounds like a great deal to me.
Can I play this Roulette with friends?
It’s not the best period for the people who love spending a lot of time with their friends now, but, surprisingly, online gambling can help you feel less lonely during the pandemic. Thanks to live-dealer games in general and Live Roulettes particularly, you can now invite your loved ones to share a casino night with you without risking their health — just meet each other around the virtual casino table and see who is the luckiest one, or have fun mocking your most unlucky friend (you might not have enough time for this in live games by Evolution, but those from Authentic Gaming or Ezugi are slower). Almost any kind of Live Roulette will work great in this case, but I prefer products with high quality of streaming like Rapid Auto Roulette by NetEnt as this is where you can have all the fun without being distracted by freezing or connection drops.
Can I get a nice bonus in this Roulette?
Bonuses are the main thing that distinguishes online gambling from the land-based one as not a single brick-and-mortar casino will give you bonus money just because you decided to make some bets there. Online casinos are pretty generous though, and you can get a variety of promotions from them, especially if you know where to look for the best offers (spoiler: on my website). Unfortunately, in most cases, you can only spend bonus money on pokies, so there is no way to play Roulette for bonuses. But some rare websites like Zet Casino spoil their players with live-casino offers once in a while (today it`s 10% cashback bonus for live-dealer games), and have a decent choice of Roulette tables — so check it out and see what’s on the menu today.
Can I feel the real casino atmosphere?
Not all live-dealer games are the same. While some of them are streamed from the high-end studios equipped with expensive devices and managed by experienced dealers who speak perfect English, the others look like the game is broadcasted from a dark basement where no one actually understands what is happening. Both of these game types can bring you the wins, but only the first will let you feel the real casino atmosphere in the comfort of your own home. When I want to get as close to the land-based casino experience, I pick one of the Evolution Gaming products as these guys are hands down the best live-dealer games developers in the industry today. Start with their Lightning Roulette and check all the others too as they are totally worth it.
How to Pick the Best Casino to Play Online Roulette
It’s important to find the right game for your needs, but it’s not less important to find a secure and fair online casino to play this game. When picking a casino for myself, I pay attention to a set of factors, but I believe the following three to be the most important ones.
Security
I can turn a blind eye to a limited choice of games or payment options, but I’ll never trust my money to a casino that is not properly licensed. As there is no local casino license in New Zealand, it’s especially important to only play on the websites approved by international organizations like the UKGC, Malta Gaming Authority, and others — they make sure that the casino is safe for players and they are the one to help you if something goes wrong. I also recommend opting for the casinos that have been tested by eCOGRA, iTech Labs, TST, or other independent testing agencies as it’s always nice to have an additional seal of approval.
Privacy
Privacy is another important factor the casino should care about as there is nothing more important than financial and personal information of the players. All the online casinos from my list use 256-bit SSL encryption or other data protection protocols so you can be sure that your information won’t be shared with anyone unless you gave your permission for it. If you are looking for a casino by yourself, don’t neglect the privacy factor as cyber-attacks are not as rare as you might be thinking and believe me, you don’t want your credit card details to be leaked by hackers.
Fair games
The last but not least thing to pay attention to when choosing a casino is the games. All the titles in the casino’s list should be bought directly from providers and licensed by them. If a casino uses pirated games, it not only robs the provider (which is totally a bad thing), but it can also tamper with random number generators and bring your chances of winning straight to zero. While I like to try games made by small indie providers, I always make sure that the casino I’m playing in has something made by the industry leaders like Evolution Gaming, Microgaming, EGT, and so on as these companies never let their products o be pirated and only cooperate with safe and trusted websites.
Roulette is considered to be a game of chance which means you don’t need any special skills to play it as everything depends on sheer luck. But in fact, there are ways to influence the outcome of the game, and knowing the basic rules and a couple of betting strategies can increase your chances of winning.
Roulette — How Does It Work?
So, before you make your first bet on a Roulette table, it’s better to understand how the game looks like and works. Any Roulette consists of the two parts — a betting table and a wheel with 37 or 38 pockets with numbers from 0 to 36, or from 00 to 36. Half of the numbers are red, and half are black. A dealer spins the wheel and drops the ball in the opposite direction. The goal of the players is to guess where the ball will stop and place their bets on the table, which is divided into three columns, twelve numbers each.
There are two kinds of Roulette bets: inside and outside ones. Let’s look at them in more detail.
Inside bets
These bets have higher payout rates but lower chances of winning. I recommend making them only if you are an experienced player with a decent gambling budget or if you are comfortable with taking the risk and losing some money.
Single bet — a bet placed on a single number. Obviously, it has the lowest probability of winning and the highest payout rate;
Split — a bet on the two adjacent numbers;
Street — this is a bet you place on three numbers in a row like 8, 9, 10;
Square — as you could have guessed from the name, this bet is placed on four numbers located in a square like 1, 2, 4, and 5.
Six lines — a bet on two rows of numbers, also known as a double street.
Basket — a bet you can only make in American Roulette as it’s placed on 00, 0, 1, 2, and 3 pockets.
Outside bets
Unlike inside bets, outside ones have lower payout rates, but much higher probability of winning, so it’s reasonable to start with them if you are learning how to play Roulette or don’t want to put your money at risk.
Odd or Even — a bet placed either on all the odd or all the even numbers;
Red or Black — the same thing, but a bet is placed on black or red numbers;
1-18, 19-36 — in this case, you bet on one of the two sectors of the wheel, either a “high” or “low”;
Columns — a bet placed on one of three columns of the betting table;
Dozens — make this bet if you can guess on which dozen of numbers a ball is going to stop.
How To Win Big in a Roulette
En prison rule — this rule can only be applied on the even money bets. Once a Roulette ball lands on a zero pocket, a dealer will mark your bet with the “en prison” sign. If your next bet is a winning one, you’ll get everything that was imprisoned back.
La partage rule — this rule can significantly increase the RTP of the game, so I recommend checking whether “the split rule” is applied automatically every time you choose a Roulette table. When you make an even money bet and the ball lands on a zero pocket, you get half of your money back.
Basic Roulette Betting Strategies
We are almost done with numbers and rules, and the last thing to mention in this Roulette guide is that there are several betting strategies you can use to minimize your losses and increase potential wins.
The Fibonacci. You have probably heard about the Fibonacci sequence where each number presents a sum of the previous two numbers: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc. On top of everything else, it’s used as a Roulette betting strategy. You are supposed to make a bet, let’s say NZ$1. Then, you bet NZ$1 again and follow it with a NZ$2 bet. And every time you lose, you increase your bet according to the Fibonacci sequence.
The Martingale. This is the easiest and the most popular Roulette betting strategy that requires you to double your bet every time you lose. So if you bet NZ$15 and lose, your next bet should be NZ$30, NZ$60, NZ$120, and so on, right until you finally win.
The Labouchere. This is a more complicated strategy that needs some prep-work. Write down a sequence of numbers — a random one or a simple 1234. Your every bet should be the sum of the first and the last digit of your sequence. So, the first bet is NZ$5. If you win, you cross 1 and 4 out. If you lose, you put 5 at the end of the sequence and keep betting.
I know that these rules and strategies look too complicated and you are tempted to just randomly bet on every number you see, but give them and try and you’ll see how your winnings and the overall quality of your gambling sessions immediately increase.
